Series Movie Posters
Halloween Movies
An assignment in my graphic design 4 class to create a cohesive series of 3 movie posters. I worked with Ambler movie theater to create posters for their upcoming movies The Nightmare Before Christmas, Jennifer’s Body, and Carrie. Using silhouettes and light to create a sense of connection along with making different objects and facial features a statement within the pieces.

Movie posters are a staple when it comes to theaters marketing tickets for movies or specific events. Whether it’s outside for the foot traffic near by or online via social media these posters are a necessary part of marketing. The posters were created for a local theater in Ambler for the months of October and November for the movies Carrie, Jennifer’s body, and The Nightmare Before Christmas. These three specific poster were created as a part of a series of silhouettes connecting them. With a sense of creepiness from bulging eyes that either pierce the viewer or direct the viewer’s eyes. The creepy feeling is toned down for The Nightmare Before Christmas with the skull eye sockets less prominent but still present, instead using the sled to carry the eyes of the viewer. Each poster also displays a moment within the film without disclosing more information. The colors are created to make them pop while still sticking to themes of the movies like Jennifer’s Body which has a room feeling with a gunge style type for the two different sides Jennifer shows throughout the movie. The color and size of the flames helps draw attention towards Carrie’s silhouette and piercing eyes.
